Encounter with the Deadly Baby Mallard

You should NOT go near areas where birds breed during breeding season since they are easily disrupted and can abandon a nest. But if you go looking for birds you will run into some young 'uns from time to time and that's okay. Just use a little common sense.

This is a baby mallard duck, and as you can see, they're incredibly dangerous. I was able to photograph this one with a super-telephoto, so while it looks like I was close I was really safe a half mile away. Until you've stared a baby mallard in the eye...well, you just don't understand death. It's that simple.
